ITV has confirmed that hit detective drama Endeavour has been recommissioned for a seventh series. The announcement follows critical acclaim and consistently viewing figures for the most recent series. Produced by leading indie Mammoth Screen in artnershi with PBS Masteriece, the successful series charts the early career of the young Endeavour Morse, layed by acclaimed actor, Shaun Evans. The new set of films will see Evans rerise his role alongside celeated star of stage and screen, Roger Allam as mentor DI Fred Thursday. Written once again by Russell Lewis, who has enned all of the 27 Endeavour screenlays to date, the new series will be set in 1970 and roduction will begin later this year for transmission in 2020. Filming will take lace in Oxford and the surrounding area. Creator Russell Lewis says: We’re thrilled ITV has asked #TeamEndeavour to continue to add to the Casebook of Colin Dexter’s immortal creation, and take E. Recently voted the fourth greatest British crime drama of all time in a oll conducted by Radio Times, the drama has gone from strength to strength since its first outing as a one-off film in 2012. The latest series launched with a consolidated audience of 6.9m and a 27\% share, marking Endeavour’s biggest audience since 2014. Mammoth Screen’s Damien Timmer and Helen Ziegler will act as executive roducers for the seventh series, alongside writer and creator Russell Lewis and WGBH’s Rebecca Eaton. The new set of films will distributed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment internationally.

ITV has commissioned a sixth series of hugely oular detective drama, Endeavour, following successful ratings and critical acclaim for the fifth series. Co-roduced by leading indie Mammoth Screen and MASTERPIECE, the smart and savvy Insector Morse requel charts the career of Endeavour Morse as he rises u through the ranks, with each feature-length film investigating a new intricately lotted case. The new set of films will see Shaun Evans rerise his titular role as DS Endeavour Morse, and celeated stage and screen actor Roger Allam return as mentor DI Fred Thursday. Each story will be written by Russell Lewis, who contributed to Insector Morse and has written each of the 23 Endeavour screenlays so far. Receiving raise from critics and viewers alike, the drama has gone from strength to strength since its first outing as a one-off film in 2012 to mark the 25th anniversary of Insector Morse on ITV. The latest series launched with consolidated figures of 6.7m and 25\% a share, with the consolidated figures for the first four films the highest for three years. Filmed in and around Oxford, the new set of films will be set in 1969 and go into roduction later this year for transmission in 2019. Mammoth Screen’s Damien Timmer executive roduces, alongside writer and creator Russell Lewis and WGBH’s Rebecca Eaton. Deanne Cunningham (Cold Feet) will roduce the new series.
